Our Goals
We will achieve our mission through five overall goals. Through these goals, we will increase access to, and use of, evidence-based approaches to screen, identify, and teach students with literacy-related disabilities, including dyslexia. We will also build individual and organizational capacity to assess students’ literacy-related skill, identify students with disabilities or those at risk of disabilities, and fully implement evidence-based literacy programs and professional development.
Goal 1
Identify or develop free or low-cost evidence-based assessment tools for identifying students with or at risk for literacy-related disabilities
Goal 2
Identify evidence-based literacy instruction, strategies, and accommodations, including assistive technology, designed to meet the specific needs of students with or at risk for literacy-related disabilities
Goal 3
Provide families of students with or at risk for literacy-related disabilities information to assist such students
Goal 4
Identify or develop evidence-based professional development for teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, other school leaders, and specialized instructional support personnel
Goal 5
Disseminate the products to regionally diverse SEAs, REAs, LEAs, and schools
